In an effort to recognize and increase student membership in SCRA, the EC has created a Student Membership Circle Award. The purpose of the award to recognize and appreciate community psychology and community psychology related academic programs that encourage their students to adopt the identity of “community psychologist” by joining SCRA. We value student engagement and participation in SCRA-related initiatives, including the Biennial conference. It is also important for students to understand the value of becoming a SCRA member as they develop their careers as community psychology scholars and practitioners.

The SCRA Student Membership Circle consists of a 3-tier award that recognizes academic programs that encourage student membership in SCRA. Student Membership Circle recipients are determined based on the percent of students in the community psychology program that are members of SCRA during Biennial conference years. The Student Membership Circle levels are:
Gold Ribbon
Silver Ribbon
Bronze Ribbon
Process: Any community psychology program wishing to participate in the program will need to indicate their desire to participate and report the overall number of students in their program to the SCRA by April 28th of Biennial years. SCRA staff will track student membership by program up through June 15th. A scorecard of the percentage of student members from participating programs will be maintained on the SCRA website. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Ribbon award recipients will be announced at the Biennial Awards presentation.
